Embracing Vulnerability

Fragile might, weakness in sight,

Like a second line parade on a moonlit night.

No shame in admitting when spirits are low,

Embracing vulnerability, we let courage grow.

In a city famed for resilience and grace,

Weakness is honored, part of the chase.

Like jazz, in its soulful, wandering notes,

Strength blooms in openness; that’s how it floats.

We shed masks of bravery, leave pretense behind,

Acknowledging our flaws, a freedom refined.

From bayous to the French Quarter’s heart,

Our weaknesses teach us; they’re where we start.

Like gumbo stewing, rich and deep,

Each tender moment is a strength we keep.

In NOLA’s rhythm, we find the power,

To stand tall in vulnerability’s hour.

So, let’s second line with our fears in tow,

Dancing boldly, letting true selves show.

For in the Big Easy, we learn and prove,

Weakness embraced is a strength to move.
